Sheep are able to recognize Barack Obama’s face after seeing more pictures with him, reveals a recent study showing that ruminants have the same performance when it comes to American actress Emma Watson.
“We already knew that sheep are capable of recognizing people. These ruminants, especially those living in small flocks, easily manage to distinguish between their master and a stranger, “said Jennifer Morton, a Cambridge University researcher and coauthor of the study, according to Telegraph.
What is surprising, the researcher says, is that ruminants have managed to recognize a person from a two-dimensional photograph.
“But the ability to learn to recognize a person from a two-dimensional photograph is surprising, as this requires a complex brain process,” the British researcher said on the results of the study published in the Royal Society Open Science.
A total of eight sheep have been trained to recognize the faces of several celebrities.
